Provides financial assistance to local governments, state agencies, non-profits and educational institutions for projects that preserve, protect and enhance Lake Erie coastal resources and/or support their sustainable use.

 

Coastal Erosion Area Permit Program

Promotes wise land use in that the applicant must demonstrate that measures are taken to effectively protect certain new construction projects in the designated Coastal Erosion Area from shore erosion and bluff instability.

 

Erosion Control Loan Program (Lake Erie Shore)

Ohio Water Dev. Authority

Provide low interest loans to counties in designated Coastal Erosion Areas along Lake Erie, for the purpose of providing loans to owners of properties for constructing a shore erosion control structure.

 

Infectious Waste Management Program

Addresses the siting, design, environmental monitoring, operation, financial assurance, and closure of treatment facilities, the use of approved treatment technologies, transporter registration and handling requirements, generator registration, infectious waste packaging requirements, and use of shipping papers.

Alternative Storm Water Infrastructure Loan Program (Financial Assistance: Loans)

Provides below-market-rate loans for the construction of water development projects (including private or publicly-owned infrastructure) as part of economic development projects. The alternative stormwater infrastructure must utilize or incorporate sustainable practices such as bioswales, green roofs, constructed wetlands, and rain gardens.
